 I doubt we need to define sex, but for the sake of those who might not know, Wikipedia defines Sex thus:

Sexual intercourse, or coitus or copulation, is principally the insertion and thrusting of a male’s penis, usually whenerect, into a female’s vagina for the purposes of sexual pleasure, reproduction, or both. This is also known as vaginal intercourse or vaginal sex. Other forms of penetrative sexual intercourse include penetration of the anus by the penis (anal sex), penetration of the mouth by the penis or oral penetration of the female genitalia (oral sex), sexual penetration by the fingers (fingering), and penetration by use of a dildo (including a strap-on dildo). These activities involve physical intimacy between two or more individuals and are usually used among humans solely for physical or emotional pleasure and commonly contribute to human bonding.

So apart from the physical pleasure, what other benefits are there?

So benefit number one is that you are less likely to die of a High Blood Pressure. Research suggests a link between sex and lower blood pressure, says Joseph J. Pinzone, MD. He is CEO and medical director of Amai Wellness.

“Sex is a really great form of exercise,” Pinzone says. It won’t replace the treadmill, but it counts for something. Sex uses about five calories per minute, four more calories than watching TV. It gives you a one-two punch: It bumps up your heart rate and uses various muscles.
  • 5. Heart Attack Risk is Reduced

A good sex life is good for your heart. Besides being a great way to raise your heart rate, sex helps keep your estrogen and testosterone levels in balance. “When either one of those is low you begin to get lots of problems, like osteoporosis and even heart disease,” Pinzone says.
